Smith Field is Getting a New Scoreboard!
After years of service, the old Coca Cola scoreboard is being replacedUpdated Thursday June 18, 2015 by FABA.
At FABA, we don't believe in the idea of "good enough" and are always looking for opportunities to improve our player and parent experiences. Sometimes that happens through new programs like "Erase Your Fee", and sometimes it happens through investment in new equipment and facilties improvements. This year, we decided it was time to make a significant investment in improving Smith Field for our members.
To that end, we are replacing the old Coca Cola scoreboard at Smith Field with a brand new, modern scoreboard. The picture included with this article is an artists mockup of what the new board will look like. It will be larger than the old scoreboard at 16 feet across, and will use LEDs instead of the old incandescent light bulbs in the current scoreboard. The LEDs are FABA red, easier to read, and last 25 times longer than the old incandescents. Our FABA logo will be displayed proudly at the top as well as the phrase "Welcome to Smith Field" and "Est. 1967". It will be a beautiful complement to the most beautiful baseball field in the area, our crown jewel, Smith Field!
